Quick Start Class: Fixing Mistakes
Everyone makes mistakes—even the most experienced knitters! One of the keys to building confidence in your knitting is learning how to recognize mistakes and how to fix them.
If the thought of a dropped stitch or misplaced purl has been sucking the joy out of your knitting, this Quick Start class is for you!
What you’ll learn:
- How to “read your knitting” to spot mistakes
- How to pick up dropped stitches
- How to change a knit to a purl
- How to fix twisted stitches
- How to un-knit (aka “tink”) without losing your stitches
- How to rip back (aka “frog”) without losing your cool
Yarn & Tools:
- 50 grams of smooth, light-colored worsted-weight yarn
- US 8/5 mm needles
- Crochet hook (size E or F is best)
Homework:
Cast on 24 stitches and work in stockinette stitch for approximately four inches. DO NOT BIND OFF, instead, keep stitches on the needle and yarn attached to the ball.
Skill level: This class is for those who are comfortable knitting and purling.
