Festive Baubles—2025 edition

Finished with your holiday knitting? Or need a little distraction from it? Let’s make some festive baubles! And to make them even more festive, let’s incorporate some of your favorite colorwork designs from 2025.

These knitted balls are more than just ornaments, they’re wonderful little reminders of the year that was. They’re also fast, easy, portable projects for using up those leftover bits from larger projects. You’ll leave this single-session class with a finished, ready-to-hang bauble. Here’s hoping they become an annual holiday tradition in your house! 

In this one session class, you’ll learn:

  1. adapting a color chart from an existing pattern
  2. making simple increases and decreases
  3. making an i-cord hanging loop

Pattern: 

The pattern is a Tea Cozy shop pattern and will be provided in the first class. Students will also receive a digital version. Each student will also receive one “naked” ball for the core of the finished bauble.

NOTE: Bring in the colorwork charts from your favorite projects of 2025 and we’ll help you adapt them for the baubles!

Yarn: 

Fingering weight yarn of your choice, as many colors as you like! (We’ll also have a selection on hand)

Tools: 

  1. 2.5 mm/US 1.5 double-pointed needle
  2. Darning needle

Skill level: This class is for those who have some colorwork experience and are comfortable knitting and purling in the round, preferably on small needles.
