One-On-One Knitting HelpThe Tea Cozy has an ongoing Knitting Help Desk. Barbara Ceiga, one of our knitting instructors and stitch sleuth, will help you get back on track. If the problem can’t be sorted out quickly over the phone, you and Barbara will make an appointment to meet either in person at The Tea Cozy or by video chat to solve it and get you back on track. Highland Slipover(via Zoom) The Highland Slipover by Ozetta is a versatile layering piece to add to your wardrobe. It's worked from the top down with an oversized fit- if that's the look you want- and features a double layer at the neck for added warmth. In this class you'll learn a whole new type of construction plus how to adjust sizing for the fit you want. We'll break down gauge, German Short Rows, holding and picking up stitches and the sewn tubular bind off. A fun garment to learn valuable new skills while adding to your knitting toolbox. Taste of Knitting:My First Cowl(via Zoom)Learn to knit! Refresh your skills. In this class we’ll learn all the knitting basics: casting on, knitting, and purling, binding off plus seaming the finished garment. In three sessions you’ll have your very own chunky cowl and the skills to make more. This is the first class in the Taste of Knitting Series that takes the new knitter from cowl to sweater. Rye Socks(via Zoom) Turn a heel with confidence and knit your own warm socks for winter. In this class you’ll knit a cuff-down sock while learning all the basics of sock knitting that fits your foot! Learn about sizing, turning a heel and the Kitchener stitch to close the toe. At the end of the series, you’ll have one knit sock and the skills to complete the pair. Skills needed: Confident with knit & purl stitches, increases & decrease stitches plus knitting in the round. Familiarity with increases, decreases and Short Rows helpful Class dates:

Super Simple Summer Sweater(via Zoom) The Super Simple Summer Sweater is a basic top-down circular yoke pullover by Joji Locatelli. This sweater introduces the new or more experienced knitter to color play, yarn choice and custom sizing. In this class, we'll take a deep dive into gauge swatching to create a fabric you love and what to do if you don't get the pattern's gauge. From there, we’ll breakdown each technique step by step plus learn how to avoid jogs in our stripes. A great first sweater or an opportunity to dive deeper into sweater knitting. Skills needed:

Lunch Bites:The World's Simplest Mittens
(via Zoom) The World's Simplest Mittens by Tin Can Knits are a fun, fast knit. Choose from fingering, DK, Worsted or Bulky weight yarn and knit toddler to adult size pair of mittens. In this class we'll learn the steps to construct a mitten through increase stitches for the thumb gusset, decreases, putting stitches on hold and picking them back up again. You can work with double pointed needles or magic loop. We'll also discuss gauge and how it impacts the final fit. Learn new skills and/or practice and refresh techniques. First Colorwork Cowl(via Zoom)
Build on your knitting skills and learn how to do stranded colorwork! The First Colorwork Cowl is a great intro to colorwork with easy to knit stranded motifs using only two colors at a time. Learn tips and techniques to make your first time knitting colorwork a success. A Taste of Knitting:First Shawl(via Zoom)
The Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West is the perfect next step in your knitting journey. A wonderful first shawl for the beginner knitter or more experienced knitter. You'll be introduced to what gauge means, pattern reading and get lots of practice with the knit and purl stitch. In this class you'll learn Make 1 Left & Right increase stitches, garter tab cast-on and I-cord bind off if you're feeling brave. Plus learn how to fix common knitting mistakes. A Taste of Knitting:First Raglan Sweater(Via Zoom)
Let’s knit a sweater! Using Brooklyn Tweed’s My First Raglan Sweater pattern, we’ll learn all the important steps in knitting a top-down sweater that fits. In the first class we’ll look at gauge, sizing and how to make basic pattern adjustments. From there, we’ll breakdown each technique step by step to learn German short rows, increases & decreases with ways to track them, tips for knitting sleeves and more. You’ll finish this series with a beautiful sweater. This is the fourth class in the Taste of Knitting Series that takes the new knitter from cowl to sweater.
